High School Media Center

Welcome to the CHS Library page. Mrs. Svoboda, the teacher/librarian, has worked for the Comsewogue School District since 1990. She worked at Boyle Road Elementary School for eight years, then moved to Terryville Road Elementary School in 1998. She has been full-time at the high school since 2013. She is happy to help students, faculty, and administrators with reading guidance and research needs. Mrs. Annette Matonti is the friendly clerk/typist who assists Mrs. Svoboda in completing all the tasks that must be done so that library may run smoothly.

The library is equipped with 13 desktop computers, one color printer, two black/white printers, and a SMARTboard with LCD projector to accommodate full classes as well as students needing to work during their free periods.

Our goal is to make our students and staff feel welcome while maintaining an environment conducive to learning. Our library catalog is web based and available from anywhere you have Internet access. In addition to books students can find evaluated web sites. Our collection of databases can be very helpful to students and teachers. The library also subscribes to Newsday and The New York Times, as well as a myriad of magazines covering a broad range of interests. Students may check out up to five books at a time for a period of 28 days. Books may be renewed as long as they are not reserved for another student or teacher. Mrs. Svoboda is always up for suggestions of new reads.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the library at 474-8195 or email Mrs. Svoboda at jsvoboda@comsewogue.k12.ny.us.
