Administration's Message

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. This is a year of new beginnings. I would like to introduce myself, Michael Mosca, as the new principal of  Comsewogue High School. I am rejoining the Comsewogue team after serving as the Principal of Islip High School for the last 5 years. As most of you know, I was also once a proud Comsewogue Warrior and I am honored and grateful that I’ve been brought back home to the community where I made so many wonderful memories.

In my time in education, I have placed a strong emphasis on Character Education in addition to setting high expectations and standards for my students. It is my steadfast belief that it is our responsibility to educate the whole child in preparation for not only college and career, but for life in general. Students in the 21 st century need to be prepared to contribute to their local communities and in the global community as well.

To accomplish this, our students need to be prepared with skill sets that include creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, technological proficiency, and global awareness. It is our goal to continue to build on the innovative educational ideas that have made Comsewogue great. In the coming years we will focus on student college and career readiness through the addition of relevant and exciting courses and programs that engage students with career-oriented experiences.

This goal truly takes a village and a partnership with local colleges, universities, businesses, and community leaders. We are in the process of establishing a School-to-Career Counsel to accomplish this endeavor. If you represent a local business that would like to be a part of this partnership, I encourage you to email me or call the Comsewogue High School Main Office. The more variety of careers we expose our students to, the greater the benefit for our students and our community.

I am looking forward to once again calling myself a Comsewogue Warrior and serving its incredible student body. Our team is dedicated to inspiring our students to become inquisitive, independent, life-long learners. As educators, we are responsible to help form individuals who have the ability and confidence to make a difference, big or small, in the world around them.

Please remember, most important to student success is parent involvement. I encourage you to continue to ask questions and keep the lines of communication open. Feel free to contact the Building Administrative team with any questions, concerns, or ideas on how we can better serve our community.
