James Lanze Named a National Football Foundation Scholar Athlete
James Lanze, a senior at Comsewogue High School in the Comsewogue School District, was recently recognized as a Scholar Athlete by the National Football Foundation Suffolk County Chapter.
James was honored during the Scholar Athlete Brunch held on April 19 at the Marriott Melville Long Island. In addition to his Varsity football career, James also plays Varsity basketball and is a member of the spring track and field team at Comsewogue High School, demonstrating excellence in all three sports.
One scholar athlete was selected from each of the 50 high schools that participate in scholastic football throughout Suffolk County, making the recognition a significant achievement for James and the Comsewogue school community.
The Suffolk County chapter of the National Football Foundation has been recognizing outstanding student-athletes since 1995. During that time, the organization has honored more than 1,000 high school football players for their academic and athletic accomplishments.
Founded nationally in 1947, the National Football Foundation is dedicated to promoting amateur football and recognizing individuals who contribute to the game. The organization includes 120 chapters nationwide and more than 14,000 members.
